The much-awaited theatrical trailer of Brahmastra was released this morning. Directed by Ayan Mukherjee, this socio-fantasy drama features Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.
Going by the trailer, the film looks like a fantasy epic in which Ranbir plays the role of DJ Shiva. He is unaware of his supernatural abilities, but once he does, he has to save the world from the evil forces headed by Mouni Roy.
Veteran actors Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna Akkineni played other important roles in the movie. Though the effort of the makers can be seen in the trailer, we have to say that the visual effects are very poor. Especially, Telugu audiences saw these kinds of graphics in Anji and Ammoru. Even the dubbing in the Telugu version was very disappointing.
In the times of RRR and Baahubali, it is sad to see top production houses like Dharma Productions and Star Studios coming up with such below-par visual effects.
On the whole, visual effects will not be the USP of Brahmastra anymore, and Ayan Mukherjee has to score marks with his storytelling. This film is slated for a worldwide release on September 9.
