Bollywood hero Ranbir Kapoor is having two big releases this year and ‘Shamshera’ will be arriving first. After the teaser, now we have the trailer and it is grandeur in every frame.
Set in 1871 during the time of British Raj in India, the locals were enslaved. Any rebel group would be eliminated mercilessly using police force by the British. Emerges Shamshera who fights for freedom and he believes that it has to be won instead of someone handing it over.
In parallel there is a dacoit group that robs all the gold and jewellery from the landlords. To chase the rebel group and dacoit, comes Shuddh Singh essayed by Sanjay Dutt. He is a ruthless police officer who works for the British.
The trailer reveals a big suspense that Ranbir Kapoor is essaying dual roles and it is his first. He excels in both the roles. Vaani Kapoor is the female lead and there is an underwater song involving the lead pair.
Directed by Karan Malhotra, the trailer has grand visuals, top class camera work and production design.
Yash Raj Films banner is producing ‘Shamshera’ and this is a crucial film for the production house. The likes of ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ produced by YRF tanked at the box office and all hopes on this film.
‘Shamshera’ is releasing on July 22nd.
