In a minor jolt to actress Sai Pallavi, the Telangana High Court has quashed her petition. Sai Pallavi had moved Telangana High Court seeking strike down on the notices she received from Telangana police.
Going into details, Sai Pallavi made some sensitive comments in one of her interviews promoting her film Virata Parvam. When she was asked whether she was “leftist” or “rightist”, Sai Pallavi maintained that she is neutral. However, Sai Pallavi drew comparisons between incidents on Kashmiri pandits as shown in Kashmir Files and the moral policing on minority community persons during Covid times when the persons transported cows. This triggered a controversy as many right-oriented people found this comparison not correct as it is not an “apple to apple” comparison.
Hurt by Sai Pallavi’s comments, some Bajrang Dal leaders have complained to the police. After taking the opinion of judicial experts, police filed a case against Sai Pallavi and sent her notices on June 21st. Sai Pallavi moved the High Court seeking strike down of the police notice. However, the Court has quashed Pallavi’s petition. More details are awaited.
