We are in the OTT era and remakes are pointless because every other film is available on respective platforms including the dubbed versions. Yet filmmakers continue preferring remakes and here is one such film that was hugely popular down south and is now gearing up for Hindi version and that too is going for an OTT release.
We are talking about ‘Good Luck Jerry’ which is the official remake of 2018 Tamil hit ‘Kolamaavu Kokila’ in which lady superstar Nayanthara played the lead. Janhvi Kapoor is playing the lead role in the Hindi remake and shockingly Janhvi has done more remakes in her career than straight films so far.
The trailer of ‘Good Luck Jerry’ is out and Janhvi turns into a drug supplier owing to her financial position and her mother’s health. Janhvi impresses with innocent looks but she is a new face in the drug mafia. She sneaks drugs from many hurdles and even stanches them in large quantities at her home. Janhvi plays a Bihari woman and she gets the dialect right.
‘Good Luck Jerry’ trailer displays a faithful remake yet it is entertaining in many ways. Directed by Siddharth Sen, the film will be streaming on Disney+HotStar from July 29th.
