The Curious Case Of Bimbisara & Karthikeya 2

For the past few days, there have been numerous speculations on the box office clash between Kalyan Ram’s Bimbisara and Nikhil’s Karthikeya 2. Both these socio-fantasy entertainers will be hitting the silver screens on August 5th.

A few days ago, there was a buzz about Bimbisara’s postponement to August second week. However, it soon turned out to be a mere rumour, as the makers of the Kalyan Ram-starrer seem to be in no mood to delay the release plans, leaving Karthikeya 2’s team in a fix.

And here’s the actual story behind the clash. Apparently, both these films have high VFX work. While Karthikeya 2 revolves around Lord Krishna and based on mythology, Kalyan Ram’s Bimbisara is fantasy period film with time travel. Nikhil was worried about clashing with Bimbisara.

Incidentally, Bimbisara makers were the first to announce their film’s release date as August 5th. On the other hand, team Karthikeya 2 had initially zeroed in on July 22nd, but later pushed the release to August 5th owing to suggestion of a top producer-distributor thus making Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You a solo release.

With about 2 weeks left for the release, it remains to be seen if there will be a major change in the release plans of either Bimbisara or Karthikeya 2.
