Sita Ramam Will Have Two Time Periods: Hanu

Made his debut with Andala Rakshasi, director Hanu Raghavapudi made five films, including Sita Ramam, in his 10 years journey in the industry.

The director says his film Sita Ramam which is ready for release will reach all the expectations set by the teaser and songs.

“Every promotional content created curiosity. Audience will definitely feel contented, after coming to theatres to watch the movie. It’s a very special one for me.”

Hanu reveals the inspiration behind penning the story. “I have this habit of buying old books in Koti. There was a letter which wasn’t even opened. It was written by a mother to his son. I was very curious. If there was an important matter in that letter, and it was never opened. How the journey would be? I penned story based on that idea. It’s a fictional story.”

As we saw in the teaser, the story happens in 1964. However, Hanu informs, the story will have two time periods. “The story takes off in 1964 and the screenplay will be in back-and-forth format.”

The film stars many popular actors such as Rashmika, Sumanth, Bhumika, Priyadarshi. “Rashmika’s is a very important role. This character is a turning point in the story. In fact, every other character has great importance in the story.”

Yuddham Tho Rasina Prema Katha is the tagline of the movie. The director clarifies, “It is not a physical war. It’s an invisible war. Every character in the movie has a battle. For example… Rama killing Ravana is not at all a real war. Because no one can match Rama’s heroism. Rama is an incarnation of Vishnu. No one else was born with the same qualities as Rama. That is why Rama became God. But there is a great war and conflict in Rama’s journey to kill Ravana. You’ll witness such a conflict and battle in Sita Ramam.”

Hanu informs, the protagonist gets many letters, after people getting to know about this orphan soldier. “Many write letters for him. However, one letter surprises him big time. It’s a big turning point in his life. The magic that happens, after the letter is opened is the story of Sita Ramam.”

Letter writing is a sensitive thing. However, Hanu says the emotion in letter-writing is something else. “We’re missing that magic. I hope, I dealt it well in the movie.”

The director calls it a wonderful experience to work under Vyjayanthi Movies banner. “Vision alone is not enough to bring what is on paper to the screen. We need to have a producer who strongly believes that. Vyjayanthi Movies, Swapna Dutt are passionate producers.”

Hanu informs he is next planning a Bollywood movie with Sunny Deol and Nawazuddin. “I’m also planning to make a web-series for Amazon.”
