Stalling Film Shootings? Guild To Meet Council

If speculations are anything to go by, the Active Telugu Film Producers Guild (ATFPG) has reportedly decided to stall the film shootings from August 1st. The Guild held a meeting today at Annapurna Studios 7 acres whose details are not revealed officially. As per the media reports, majority of the active producers in the Guild reportedly voted for suspending the film shoots. However, this is not final. Whereas, Producers Council is not in favour of the stalling of the film shootings.

The Guild producers are going to meet the Telugu Film Producers Council tomorrow and going to present their recommendations and decisions in front of all the sectors of the Producers Council. The Council will discuss the issue and take a final call. Industry insiders say that it is not that easy to stop the film shootings since this move will evoke protests from the producers whose films are currently in the shooting phase.

Many producers in the Guild raised serious concerns on several issues that are affecting the producers. Since these problems can’t be solved immediately and would take sometime before arriving at solution, majority producers in the Guild want the film’s shootings to be stalled till these problems are resolved permanently.

It can be noted that the Producers Council has already convened a committee to look into the issues and problems facing by the Telugu film producers. This committee’s decision is going to be final.

OTT Rule

According to the Guild, producers shall not stream their films on OTT platform till 10 weeks from the film’s theatrical release. This is applicable for large and big-budget films. For films with medium budget, producers are allowed to stream their movies on OTT after 4 weeks of theatrical release. For films under budget of Rs 6 Crore, they shall discuss with the Federation and stream the film on OTT.

VPF

The virtual print fee (VPF) shall has to be borne by the film’s exhibitors. Producers will not pay the VPFs. The move may earn strong protest from the Exhibitors sector in the Producers Council.

Ticket Prices

The Producers Council will discuss on ticket prices and will try to fix the ticket prices. Thus it wants to end the confusion surrounding the ticket rates.

Fighters Union, Federation Issues

The Producers Council to discuss and finalise on the ongoing issues of fighters union, federation problems, managers, remunerations of character artistes and other issues.
