South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) need no introduction to the moviegoers of the South Cinema. Every year, the organizers hold a grand event to celebrate the South Cinema grandly. For the current edition, the organizers are holding a big event in Bengaluru on the 10th and 11th of September, where the awards will be announced to the winners. This will be the 10th edition of the SIIMA event and plans are underway to make it a memorable one.
Meanwhile, Brinda Prasad Adusumilli, the Chairperson of SIIMA has announced SIIMA Nominations for the films released in 2021 in the 4 South Indian Languages.
Among the films released in 2021, Pushpa: The Rise (Telugu), Karnan (Tamil), Roberrt (Kannada) and Minnal Murali (Malayalam) are leading the SIIMA Nominations in most of the popular categories in their respective languages.
Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ is leading with 12 nominations, while Akhanda starring Balakrishna bagged 10 Nominations. Uppena and Jathi Ratnalu bagged 8 Nominations in various categories.
When it comes to Tamil, Mari Selvaraj’s Karnan is leading with 10 nominations. Sivakarthiekyan’s Doctor is in the second place with 9 nominations. Vijay’s Master and Kangana’s Thalaivii enjoys 7 Nominations.
In Kannada, ‘Roberrt’ is leading with 10 categories. Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana bagged 8 nominations. Late Puneeth Rajkumar’s ‘Yuvaratnaa’ bagged 7 Nominations.
In Malayalam ‘Minnal Murali’ has 10 Nominations. Kurup has 8 nominations. Malik has 6 Nominations.
The winners are chosen by an online voting system. Fans can vote for their favorite stars and movies on www.siima.in and the Facebook page of SIIMA.
