60 Screens On Day 1 To 1000 Screens On Day 6

Nikhil Siddhartha’s Karthikeya 2 is creating a storm at the BO both in Telugu and Hindi belts. Taking the trade by surprise, the small film which released with low expectations is shattering the BO records. From 60 screens on Day 1 to that of 1000+ screens on Day 6, Nikhil’s “Karthikeya 2” is on a roll in Bollywood as well. The advance bookings in Hindi on the Krishna Janmashtami eve is really surprising, say the trade analysts in Mumbai.

With no major releases this week in Telugu and Hindi, Karthikeya 2 is likely to have a good advantage at the ticket windows. The family audiences are flocking to theatres in the second week. According to trade reports, Karthikeya 2 has done about Rs 42 Crore World-wide Gross in 6 days including Hindi and overseas. The film released last Saturday missed out on Friday opening and Thursday premieres in the US. Yet, in the US, the film is marching towards the USD 1 million mark.

Nikhil’s Hindi

Nikhil, Anupama and team Karthikeya 2 have just wrapped up a whirlwind tour of the film’s promotion in Delhi and Mumbai cities on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. Nikhil addressed the media and public in Hindi which was received well by locals. Since Nikhil was born and brought up in Hyderabad, his command of the Hindi language turned out to be a big plus point. In fact, Nikhil dubbed for his role in Hindi. Looks like, this is also one of the reasons Hindi audiences connected to the film. Lord Shri Krishna factor and Anupam Kher’s scenes are what working big for the film in the North belt.
