Actress Tamannaah has teamed up with acclaimed Bollywood director Madhur Bhandarkar for the film Babli Bouncer. Touted to be a comedy-drama, the trailer has been unveiled today.
Tamannaah plays the role of a young woman named Babli, who hails from Fatehpur, which happens to be the town producing bouncers. Right from childhood, Babli’s father trains her in wrestling and makes her on par with men wrestlers.
Eventually, Babli gets the job of a lady bouncer in Delhi. Babli is bold, brave and bindaas. It sums up her characterisation. How things changed in her life after taking up the job forms the main crux of the film.
The trailer looks hilarious and Tamannaah completely steals the show. Her antics as a female bouncer and her UP accent look perfect. She might have put on some weight for the role but she fits in perfectly and even bashes the bad guys.
Actor Saurabh Shukla plays a doting father and he supports his daughter’s every step to be on her own.
Babli Bouncer will premiere in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on September 23. This film opted for a direct digital release on Disney+ Hotstar.
