Super Target For India’s Superheroes!

The superhero trend is slowly picking up in Indian cinema. Though Baahubali and RRR are period drama entertainers, the leads are no less than superheroes. The Malayalam film industry tested its luck with a superhero film called Minnal Murali, which has become a very big hit at the box office. Telugu Cinema is also exploring the genre with the film titled Hanu Man. Meanwhile, Bollywood is also coming up with a superhero kind of film with Brahmasthra. The film is hitting the screens soon, and there is a big target in front of the film in terms of recovering the budget.

Bollywood is going through a rough patch after the COVID-19 pandemic. None of its big-ticket films is able to do well at the box office. Now, the biggest of them all, Brahmastra is gearing up for its release. All eyes are on how this movie will do in theatres.

Directed by Ayan Mukherjee, Brahmastra features Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. It is a fantasy drama that involves a lot of VFX elements. Karan Johar produced this project with a budget of more than Rs. 400 crores. Now, the question is whether it can recover such a huge budget or not.

The advance bookings have been opened across the country and we have to say that the film is doing pretty well through these bookings. Reportedly, more than 50000 tickets were sold in Mumbai with occupancy of over 40%. The figure will definitely increase in the coming days. The makers are expecting offline ticket sales to be high on the release day.

Brahmastra needs to get a highly positive talk in North India to recover its budget. Down the South, it may do well only in Telugu because the makers promoted it heavily in Telugu states and didn’t care about the rest of the South Indian states.

However, Brahmastra will end up in the profits zone if it manages to become a blockbuster in North India and Telugu states.

As of now, no one is expecting it to do business like RRR or KGF 2. All the Bollywood folks want is the film to end up in a profit zone by getting sensational footfalls.
