Actress Amala Paul is a popular heroine in the Tamil film industry. She also needs no introduction to the Telugu audience. She made her Telugu debut with Bezawada and was later seen in films like Iddarammailatho, Nayak, and Jenda Pai Kapiraju.
However, she failed to act consistently in Telugu despite of having good popularity here. She opened up about it in a recent interview.
Amala Paul said that when she first entered Tollywood, she realized that it is in the control of a few big families. She said that when she made her Telugu debut, most of the films here used to have two heroines and they were shown in a glamorous way.
Amala Paul opined that Telugu movies used to make commercial films that confine heroines only to songs and love scenes. Amala was not interested in doing only such kinds of roles. Thus, she had to stay away from the Telugu film industry for a long time.
She made her Telugu comeback with the 2021 Netflix anthology Pitta Kathalu. We have to see if she comes up with any straight Telugu film in the coming days.
