With lots of Hollywood celebrities speaking big about “RRR” in recent times, surely the rhetoric to send the film as India’s Official Nomination for Oscars is growing stronger. Reports are coming out that both Rajamouli and his father Vijayendra Prasad are moving their pawns quite quickly such that the film will get a nomination at any cost.
Currently, Rajamouli is in the USA attending a film festival where his films and work are being screened and discussed. At the same time, the director is getting invitations from many other film festival organisers to attend the event and get his RRR screened. Taking a cue from this, Rajamouli is said to be talking to various agents and other film biggies in Hollywood such that RRR will get proper attention in Los Angeles and will find a place when ‘The Academy’ rolls out nominations late this year.
On the other hand, RRR has to be first sent by the Government of India for nominations, but then there are a couple of other films like The Kashmiri Files that are getting attention from the jury that picks a film to be sent to the Oscars. For the same reason, Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra PRasad is said to be meeting various film biggies and other influential persons to make them understand that sending RRR to the Oscars race is the right thing to do.
As RRR didn’t have an English release or a Hollywood production house partnering with it, there is no chancing of directly sending the film to The Academy for consideration in the ‘Best International Film ‘category.
