The song “Alanai Neekai” from the upcoming magnum opus “Ponniyan Selvan 1” is right now going viral for a specific reason. Though AR Rahman’s tune is quite melodious and enchanting, it’s not greater than what he has composed previously. However, the song is getting noted for the mellifluous voice of the female singer, who happens to be newcomer Antara Nandy.
The dynamic voice of Antara with huge ups and downs, and the aalaps and the way she sang the same song in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and all other languages are quite surprising and enticing as well. After winning the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champions in 2009, Antara is looking forward to the best offer to make her grand Bollywood and other top tinsel towns debut. Though she has sung in Assamese and Bengali already, this is the first time she has entered Hindi, Telugu and Tamil markets.
Right now Antara’s voice has made this song a must-stay thing on the playlist of many music lovers. No doubt, she could be the best competitor for the likes of Shreya Ghosal, Sunidhi Chouhan, and other singers who have that powerful melodious voice.
