Oopiri Behind Sardar

Karthi is coming up with a spy thriller Sardar directed by PS Mithran. The movie is slated for Diwali release on the 21st of this month. The film’s pre-release event was organized in Hyderabad with Nagarjuna attending it as a chief guest. Karthi entertained the viewers by singing Nagarjuna’s superhit song Kannullo Nee Rupame from Ninne Pelladutha and danced to a song from Sardar on stage.

While speaking on the occasion, Nagarjuna said, “As you all know, I did the film Oopiri with Karthi and our association started since then. It has been a very beautiful relationship. Annapurna Studios is presenting the movie. I feel very proud to present it. Karthi said that he is proud of doing this film. I can imagine, how good the movie is, after watching the trailer which is too good.

Karthi’s brother Suriya is a superstar. It’s tough to prove individuality, by coming out of the shadow of a superstar brother. It’s a rare phenomenon. Chiranjeevi’s brother Pawan Kalyan in Telugu, Shivanna’s brother Puneeth Rajkumar in Kannada and Suriya’s brother Karthi in Tamil Nadu achieved stardom like their superstar brothers.

Karthi has done many different films and has become a superstar like Suriya. Karthi not only speaks Telugu but also sings Telugu songs well. PS Mithran of Abhimanyudu fame is an excellent director. I believe that Sardar was also made well.”

Karthi said, “I am thankful to the Telugu audience who love me so much. I’m happy that Nagarjuna annayya came to this event. Also, I’m thrilled that Nagarjuna is releasing this movie in Telugu. Sardar is a very special movie in my career. I acted as father and son for the first time. Spy’s role in this is very special.

Sardar is a great hero who worked for the country without expecting anything. I felt very proud when I did that role. When it comes to the character of the police, it is suitable for this generation. It is a challenge to show two generations in one film. It is an Indian spy thriller. PS Mithran of Abhimanyudu fame made this film brilliantly. Just as a digital crime was brought into light with Abhimanyudu, an important thing that we don’t take seriously is discussed in Sardar as well. It will be a great surprise in Sardar.

Raashi Khanna, Rajisha, and Laila acted brilliantly. Sardar is a big-budget film in my career. We shot it almost like a pan India film. My previous movie movie Khaidhi came for Diwali. This Diwali, I’m coming up with Sardar. This is going to be a cracker for the festival.”
