One small film is shaking the box office of Kollywood this week. It is Love Today, directed by Pradeep Ranganathan. He also played the lead hero in it. Pradeep made his directorial debut with the 2019 comedy-drama Comali, featuring Jayam Ravi and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles.
Love Today hit the screens last Friday and is getting a unanimous positive response from the audience.
“What happens when a couple exchanges their phones for one day?” This line forms the main crux of the movie.
It is an out-and-out comedy ride that appeals to the younger generation of audiences. The story is highly relatable and that is the reason why it is doing sensational business in theatres across Tamil Nadu.
This is the first hit among small films in Tamil after the COVID-19 pandemic. The success of Love Today gave a big boost to small Tamil movies.
We have to see if any Telugu producer acquires the remake rights of the film and produces it in Tollywood anytime soon. Tollywood is always first in spotting such interesting concepts which will suit Telugu audiences. With the remake trend working big in the South, the film has the full potential to be a big blockbuster. The reports say that a couple of producers are already showing interest to remake the film in Telugu.
