Yashodha Gives Huge Relief To Creative Director

Until its release, there are various doubts about Samantha’s Yashodha and whether the film will click or not. At the same time, with the actress revealing her inability to promote the film as she was diagnosed with myositis, many felt that the film’s box office collections might get affected badly. But the box office proved otherwise giving a bit of relief to this creative director. 

Apparently, Yashodha has collected a whopping gross of ₹33 crores from the worldwide box office so far. The movie collected nearly $600K in the USA alone, a feat that is appreciable in these times. Showcasing her star power, Samantha pulled audiences to theatres without much publicity and with only Instagram promotions. That is now giving huge relief to director Gunasekhar who has spent a huge on “Shakuntalam” movie which features Samantha in an epic mythological role. 

All these days Gunasekhar is said to have no confidence that the film will make huge money at the box office in case if Samantha won’t promote the movie. Now that her solo box office stamina is proven, he’s said to have gotten relieved that Shakuntalam is a more commercial movie than Yashodha with loads of glamour and other masalas. And the VFX is going to be another interesting aspect of the film, they say.
