Bedurulanka 2012 FL: The Biggest Hoax Ever Played

Dramedies derive their comic elements essentially from character and plot development. ‘Bedurulanka 2012’, which is billed as a self-aware dramedy, seems to do just that. Although nothing much can be made out of its Motion Poster, it seems writer-director Clax is telling a sincere story.

Kartikeya Gummakonda plays a protagonist who is not constrained by conventions. In the film’s Motion Poster unveiled through Natural Star Nani, he is seen exuding a smile and wearing casual clothing. His muscular body stands in contrast to the song listening to in the background: the song announces the arrival of Sivudu. “The biggest hoax ever played” is yet to be revealed.

The film, a blend of comedy, human emotions and some action, bases itself on a crazy concept. Producer Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni, who has previously made the National Award-winning ‘Colour Photo’, has backed fight masters Anji and Prithvi Raj.

For self-confessed new-age dramas, both background score and editing have to be sophisticated. One hopes Mani Sharma and Viplav Nyasadam, respectively, have done the needful. Neha Shetty of ‘DJ Tillu’ fame is the female lead.

The film also features character artists (Ajay Ghosh, Srikanth Ayyengar) as well as comedians (Satya, Raj Kumar Kasireddy, ‘Auto’ Ram Prasad, Goparaju Ramana).
