Trailer Talk: Shot On iPhone Film Rocks Internet

Though Amazon Prime hasn’t publicised it as a ‘Shot on iPhone’ movie, apparently Fahadh Faasil’s latest movie directed by Mahesh Narayanan has become a rage on YouTube. It starred almost 2.5 million views in 24 hours time, and here is how it goes.

‘C U Soon’ is all about a call centre employee (Roshan Mathew) who stays abroad and whose wife lives with his mom. They talk to each other daily through video calls and stay connected all the time. And suddenly she goes missing from the house, regarding which the employee seeks the help of his friend, played by Fahadh Faasil. The trailer is quite intriguing though it has inspiration from low budget Hollywood movie “Searching” all over it when it comes to characters speaking to each other through interface of video chat apps.

And on the other hand, Gopi Sundar’s intriguing background score has bang on the bucks as the trailer got huge elevation because of it. More than the fact that the film is shot on a phone, it is the narrative that is gripping and Fahadh’s acting prowess makes it a killer.

But for people who will be rushing to buy an iPhone11 Pro after looking at this trailer, first think about the story, screenplay, sound design, VFX, music and other stuff that come in play as a film is not about visuals alone.
