#RRRoaring: Rajamouli Wins New York Critics Award

Looks like the ‘hawa’ of legendary director SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus “RRR” has already started as many award events are unable to ignore this mega movie.

Now, the popular New York Film Critics Circle Awards have chosen SS Rajamouli as the “Best Director” of the year, for RRR. Competing against Hollywood legends like Steven Spielberg and Oscar winner Darren Aronofsky, Rajamouli grabbed this award for RRR, showcasing the world the true power of a Telugu filmmaker.

The NYFCC is known for picking up indie movies and honouring talents across the globe. They have chosen Tar as the Best Film, and the Cate Blanchett & Colin Farrell Take Lead Acting Award for ‘Tar’ and ‘The Banshees of Inisherin and After Yang’ respectively.

Before this, RRR grabbed the “Best International Film” award, at the 50th anniversary “Saturn Awards” in the USA.

Looks like Rajamouli is on his way to the first-ever Oscar Nomination if the buzz in film circles of the USA is anything to go by. Let’s hope for the best.
