Kamal Haasan’s Words Giving Solace To Bollywood

Except for Bhool Bhualaiah 2 and Drishyam 2, none of Bollywood’s big-budgeted movies featuring some happening superstars had worked at the box office. That led to a belief that Bollywood lost that magic and the filmmakers in Mumbai are failing to ascertain what would work and what wouldn’t. Even the likes of Karan Johar have echoed a similar opinion thus upsetting Bollywood folks further. 

But it looks like those folks who are seriously upset with these comments that Hindi filmmakers lost that Midas touch, are now finding solace in the words of legendary actor Kamal Haasan. While attending an interview with a Mumbai based portal, Kamal revealed that currently the winds are favouring South cinema a lot but that might not be permanent. 

“Once upon a time when most of the south films are hitting the flop line, even we thought that Bollywood knows the perfect formula to make blockbusters and we need to decode them. This is like Sun hitting a part of the earth, and after a bit of a dark phase, there will be a bright phase again” said Kamal, comforting the Bollywood folks with these soothing words.

Also the senior actor, director and producer commented that he has learned the fact that films should have a ‘connect’ with the audience, otherwise they don’t work. “I’ve learnt all these things by studying the timeless classics carved by Shantaram and how that legend himself failed to deliver with some of his films”. 

On the other hand, Bollywood is seeing good films for sure, but lack of masala or overdose of masala without a proper story arc and characterisations is not working for them.
