World-renowned film director James Cameron, who is known for his stellar production values is coming with the sequel to his film Avatar, the highest-grossing film of all time and 2nd highest grossing film of all time when adjusted to inflation. Titled “Avatar: The way of water”, James is bringing his magnum opus to the screens after a long gap of 13 years.
Fans across the world are going gaga over this. Ticket sales outside America, especially in India are massive. Bookings opened almost 15 days before the film’s release in India and tickets were sold in a flash. This clearly demonstrates the craze Avatar has in India. Indian audiences are eagerly waiting to watch the stunning visuals and visit Pandora again.
But this is just one side of the coin. On the other side, the western audience seems uninterested in Avatar-2. Bookings have been lower than that of MCU’s “Black Panther -2” which has left trade analysts in a confused state.
Even the views on Avatar-2’s trailers aren’t really encouraging. Adding to this, the premiere show talks haven’t been on the side of the production unit too. Reviews are mixed which is adding to the owes James. James previously said that he wouldn’t make Avatar 4 and 5 if Avatar 2 doesn’t do well at the box office which is making the audience question his faith in the project.
Avatar-2 is due to release on the 16th of December. Its box office run will be a major point of interest.
