Massraja Raviteja’s much awaited “Dhamaka” has come but the audience hasn’t felt that ‘icchipaad’ moments promised by the star and his co-star Sreeleela. This is because of the old-age story without any novel concept, and the way audiences are taken for granted with a logic-less screenplay in the name of cinematic liberty and commercial cinema. That brings us to another discussion now.
Apparently, writer Prasanna Kumar is said to have narrated a subject to Ram Charan years back but the star hero rejected it saying that it is quite logic-less. For a long time, the writer travelled with the same story to many heroes.
After looking at Dhamaka and the way Prasanna promoted it, one can’t stop thinking if this is the same story that Charan rejected. And that ‘Indra’ movie spoof inside the movie further strengthens that doubt as the writer might have designed that keeping Charan in mind.
However, the core idea of a guy living as a son in two houses, a middle-class household and a big rich family, is practically silly. Though one can take liberties for sure in commercial films, taking too much liberty sounds outright a 90s model idea.
Probably Ram Charan might have felt the same as he has done films like Bruce lee and Vinaya Vidheya Rama, which banked on mass and missed the logic, thus missing out on boxoffice success as well.
