“I don’t take anything for granted. I have worked the hard way to reach this place in life,” Santosh Shoban said in one of his latest interviews. Ironically, his onscreen character in ‘Kalyanam Kamaneeyam’ takes everything for granted. He takes his wife for granted. He took his parents for granted for 25 years. And hard work is not his cup of tea.
Post marriage, though, life teaches him some harsh lessons. He has to pull up his socks and find a well-paying job if he has to prove himself. He is Shiva, the typical guy we all have seen around us. His wife Shruti, played by the talented Priya Bhavani Shankar, loves him for the world. But she doesn’t want her excessive loyalty to ruin the manchild that Shiva has become. Strong lead performances seem to be among the biggest merits of the film.
Writer-director Anil Kumar Aalla adds humour and emotions to the drama to make this Sankranthi release a complete package. UV Concepts, which proved lucky for Santosh Shoban by producing ‘Ek Mini Katha’, has got plans to release the movie on January 14.
With music by Shravan Bharadwaj, the film has cinematography done by Karthik Ghattamaneni.
