A couple of days back during the promotions of “Waltair Veerayya”, Megastar Chiranjeevi himself announced that his upcoming film is Vedhalam remake “Bhola Shankar” which is being directed by Meher Ramesh, and it might miss the Summer release date due to lots of pending work. He confirmed that a Dasara release would be possible.
However, it looks like Chiranjeevi has a change of mind after looking at the way “Waltair Veerayya” worked out this Sankranthi season. As the film amassed huge collections despite getting poor reviews, the matinee idol is of the feeling that mass movies will still work if rightly made, promoted and released. For that reason, he’s said to have felt that wrapping Bhola Shankar in the next two months might give him a chance to release the movie in Summer of 2023.
For that reason, Chiranjeevi joined the sets of “Bhola Shankar” in Hyderabad even before Waltair Veerayya completed its first week at the box office. The makers have erected a special Kolkata set in Hyderabad and they are going to bring back some Chudalani Vundhi kind of feels with this set now. We have to see if Megastar would really wrap it soon and bring it to Summer in theatres.
