Pathaan & Waltair Veerayya – That’s A Similarity

One of the shocking box office performances in recent times has come from Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya which received ratings of below 2.5 stars.

After that, now it is amusing to see that even Pathaan is going on a similar track though some Bollywood critics rated it 4.5 stars while others felt that is just an average film. Here is a similarity between these two movies.

Irrespective of the ratings, Waltair Veerayya cashed on the Sankranthi holiday season well as the film collected ₹100 crores gross in just 3 days of release. Similarly, taking the bar further, now Pathaan touched ₹215+ crores gross in just 2 days of release.

The similarity is not about the collection but about the situations. When it comes to Tollywood, fans are waiting to see Megastar Chiru’s mass avatar with vintage comedy timing for a long time, but that happened only with Waltair Veerayya. That’s why they rolled out a red carpet for the movie no matter how the content is.

At the same time, even Shah Rukh Khan is suffering from a lack of hits for a long time, and that forced fans to look at him optimistically for a hit film. With SRK’s looks and the action content clicking big time despite poor VFX and lack of emotional connect, the film worked out well and hence this massive result. That way both Pathaan and Veerayya got a similarity.
