Malayalam films grew popular more than ever during the pandemic times. Films like Driving License, Ayyappanum Koshiyum, Nayattu, CU Soon, and many others grabbed the spotlight with the OTT releases and mainly due to the amazing content they came up with. Yet another time, a new Malayalam film is garnering great reviews all over. The movie is Iratta starring Jiju George in a double role.
From the plot and the actual climax being partly predictable, the happenings, twists, and key piece of information that comes up during the last few minutes of the film are intriguing in Iratta. Debutant director Rohith MG Krishnan proves all our guesses wrong in the end in his emotionally disturbing climax.
The basic plot is about DYSP Pramod and ASI Vinod in a crime thriller. A policeman died at Vagamon Police station where the forest minister is supposed to inaugurate a program. The dead policeman is Vinod and Pramod arrives on the spot immediately. The police had a case against themselves in the circumstances and how they resolve the case is what we see in Iratta.
The director distracts the audience by injecting many theories into their minds but he finally unravels the fact intelligently. It has to be seen if one of our filmmakers in Telugu tries to bring it to the Telugu audience soon.
