After the super success of Bimbisara, Kalyan Ram has come up with a unique concept of Amigos. Kalyan Ram played a triple role in the film. Here is the first report from the US Premieres.
Amigos has got an interesting concept of doppelgangers. Kalyan Ram tried to best to look like three different characters. There are a few scenes that are shot well and some twists that are entertaining.
The idea of putting one ordinary guy, one innocent, and one rugged guy together in a triple-role plot is an old formula. But less confusion is maintained throughout the film, which is a plus. The first half is all about character establishment and a so-so love story.
The second half is the crux of the story. It starts with a spotlight on one of the characters that appear dragged with old-school narration. It later picks up with the pace with the cat and mouse game between the three characters. The visual effects and the background music could have been much better to elevate the scenes. The remix song ‘Enno Rathrulostayi’ is good.
Amigos has a unique idea of a conflict between lookalikes instead of a routine story of misplaced twins or triplets, but it comes with its own positives and drawbacks. On whole, Amigos is a decent watch that can keep the viewers engaged for most of it.
