Two Superstars On Acid Test Mode With South Content

While Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ made it to the ₹1000 crores club on one side, Bollywood’s other films like the recently released ’Shehzada’ are tumbling to make it big. Especially remakes of south films like HIT, Jersey and now Shehzada have failed to impress Hindi folks while Drishyam 2 proved that films will work if remade correctly.

On that note, we have to say that while younger heroes like Shahid Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao and Karthik Aryan failed with remakes, senior stars like Ajay Devgan succeeded in the recent past. And now, once again senior stars Ajay Devgan and Akshay Kumar are getting ready to impress Bollywood with remakes.

Malayalam film Driving License which is remade as “Selfie” by Akshay Kumar is releasing this Friday in Bollywood. Another one is Karthi and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Kaithi which is remade as Bholaa by Ajay Devgan in his own direction and is hitting cinemas in March. While Akshay’s film is all about the fight for a driving license, Ajay’s movie is about a prisoner who gets to save the police overnight. And these films should save Bollywood BO big time.

Last year there are not enough hits for Bollywood except Bhool Bhualaiya 2 and Drishyam 2, and Bollywood needs a big break this year. Apart from these two remakes, in March there is Ranbir Kapoor rom-com Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar as well, one on which they have pinned huge hopes.
