Many times, we have seen comedians turning solo leads. Be it Ali, Sunil, or Sapthagiri, all of them did leave their mark. In some instances, comedians like Brahmanandam did Babai Hotel, which is an emotional drama with more of a human drama angle and less on the comic part. The film has become a big hit. Now, Kollywood cinema is experimenting with an interesting subject, headlined by comedian Suri. Vetrimaran is the film’s director and it is titled Vidutalai.
Suri plays the role of a constable in the film and the makers released the trailer yesterday. The entire video is filled with intense drama and visuals. The level of police anarchy in the Naxal-dominated area and the atrocities committed by Khaki on the women belonging to the community on the pretext of arresting their leader have been shown to be eye-popping.
Vijay Sethupathi and Gautham Vasudev Menon are also a part of the film which will be released in two parts. Ilayaraja composed the music.
Earlier in Telugu, films on similar subjects emerged. Ankuram, especially with Revathi in the lead role, is an unforgettable classic. Vetrimaran usually makes films on the suppression of backward classes on social issues. After this, the director has planned to do a film with Dhanush and JR NTR might also be a part of it.
On the other hand, Viduthalai part one will be out on March 31.
