While some liked the second half of the movie, some felt that it is another regular comedy but nothing new when it comes to Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s Tu Jhooti Main Makkar movie.
Except for Ranbir’s long one-liners and Shraddha’s explosive glamour treat in tiny two pieces, the film got nothing new to offer to the mass audience as well. However, these opinions are not reflected in the collections of the movie. Released as a Holi treat on Wednesday, TJMM made it huge in the long extended weekend as the film managed to collect ₹70+ crores nett from the India box office alone. Including all the territories from abroad, the film’s nett collection crossed ₹100 crores collection, and that’s a big success for a film that got mixed responses from the critics.
Looks like the lack of any other film than Pathaan is doing wonders for this Luv Ranjan directorial at the moment. Also, the two good songs that have glamour spilt all over, are working out. On the other hand, the film is not seeing many big opponents for another couple of weeks, so it might do well on weekdays too.
