Ravanasura: A Movie with No Heroine

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s crime action thriller Ravanasura under the direction of Sudheer Varma is scheduled for its release on 7th of this month. Director Sudheer Varma in his interview with the media shades interesting facts:

Sudheer Varma says Ravanasura will be Ravanasura will be thoroughly exciting. “Thrills and shocking elements will astonish the audience in the theatres. “We are holding the thrilling elements as not to kill the excitement.”

As we all know Srikanth Vissa penned the story. “Ravi Teja and I wanted to do a movie together. But it didn’t materialize for some reason. However, when Srikanth Vissa narrated him this story, Ravi Teja felt I would be an apt choice to direct the movie.”

Ravi Teja and a few other actors appeared in grey-shaded roles. “People will love even if heroes play negative shaded roles. It’s not new for us. However, it will be interesting to see Ravi Teja in a differently designed character.”

The movie featured a stellar cast. “The padding is needed for the movie. There will be curiosity among the audience on why these many actors were cast. There’s no heroine in the movie. At the same time, there is no single character that is useless. Every actor played important characters. These characters come to Ravi Teja’s story and they will travel all through.”

Sudheer Varma feels Ravanasura will be one of the finest films in Ravi Teja’s career. “Ravi Teja is the kind of actor who brings that extra energy with his brilliant performance. Ravanasura will be in the list of his top 3 movies. I can’t say it is an experimental film. For the first time, a story with a shocking element is attempted with a star hero.”

The director also clarifies the movie is in no way connected to Ravanasura. “We felt Ravanasura is an apt title for the movie. For us, Ravanasura is a negative character.”

Sudheer says he will think about a sequel based on the result of the movie. He also explained the reason for not releasing the movie in other languages.

“We wanted to do it in Tamil and Telugu. For the Tamil release, we need to give the copy, 15 days prior to the release. This may cause a leak in the film’s story and the twists. Thus, we chose to release it only in Telugu.”
