When PV Sindhu clinched the silver medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016, the entire country was curious about her rise to Olympics glory. However, caste fanatics in the Telugu states were busy frantically searching for Sindhu’s caste. This shameful craze for caste amount Telugus was a nationwide sensation those days.
Now, the same curiosity about the castes of Bigg Boss contestants has again become a hot topic on social media. Soon after Anchor Lasya Manjunath entered the Bigg Boss house, a section of people claimed that she belongs to the Reddy community and began creating fan pages and social media posts to extend their full support.
On the other hand, My Village Show fame Milkuri Gangavva is rumoured to hail from the Munnuru Kapu community and another section began posting in her favour. There have also been numerous attempts to find out the castes of other contestants. This caste fanaticism among Telugus has left intellectuals and rationalists fuming and wondering if this caste fanaticism will ever end in the Telugu states.
