On any given day, a film’s success not only depends on the content but also on the release date. Choosing a solo release date, or a date where there is not much competition around, will definitely do wonders for some films. Right now, we have to talk about the upcoming film “Shaakuntalam” that has none other than Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the star power to lure the audience to theatres.
On April 14th, on the eve of the Ambedkar Jayanthi holiday, Samantha’s Shaakuntalam which was produced and directed by Gunasekhar is hitting cinemas. Though the trailer hasn’t created much buzz for the movie, Samantha’s glamorous looks in recent times, effervescent comments and some blasting interviews have led to attention on this movie. Here in Tollywood, surprisingly the movie has full space to do wonders.
With Nani’s Dasara slowing dowing after the first weekend itself, and the likes of Raviteja’s Ravanasura, as well as Kiran Abbavaram’s Meter, failing to click big time, there is a dull phase going on at the box office. At this time, if Samantha could prove that her film is simply watchable, then she is going to do wonders for her project. Let’s see what happens.
