Did BJP Leaders Really Watch Shaakuntalam?

Ace producer Dil Raju wants to make sure that Samantha’s Shaakuntalam will be well received by the Indian audience as the film has this mythological story that mirrors the sentiments of the whole of India.

Also with the film dealing with the story of Sakuntala, mother of Princess Bharatha, the very founder of the Vedic Indian land, the Akhanda Bharat, surely this film will be a touching story for all Indians. And here’s a rumour doing rounds.

Reportedly some top brass from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party are said to have watched Shaakuntalam at a special screening other day. They say that ace producer Dil Raju has taken special care to screen the film to them for reasons unknown.

Whether this is a political inclination by the producer or he’s just showcasing them as the film happens to be a Hindu mythology story and BJP always backs such movies with incentives and promotions. However, the rumour of BJP top brass watching the film is gaining traction ahead of the film’s release this Friday.

On the other hand, at a time when the buzz is bit low for Shaakuntalam, a political boost would surely change the winds in the favour of the film. Directed by the talented Gunasekhar, the film is hitting cinemas on Friday, April 14th.
