Veera Simha Reddy Impressed Vijay!

Telugu directors are in the limelight. After SS Rajamouli created history with Baahubali and RRR, Telugu directors became hot property both in Bollywood and Kollywood. The likes of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Gowtam Tinnanuri, Sailesh Kolanu have made their Bolly debuts. While Sandeep cemented his position, other two failed.

Veering towards Kollywood, never before Tamil superstars believed in Telugu directors. Vamshi Paidipally made multi-starrer Oopiri with Nagarjuna and Karthi. However, Vijay Thalapathy’s Varisu (Vaarasudu) is a big starrer film helmed by Telugu director Vamshi Paidipally. Vaathi / SIR is another such example as Dhanush believed in Venky Atluri. Dhanush has also signed a film with Sekhar Kammula. Director Bobby is going to direct Super Star Rajinikanth and it is going to be bankrolled by Dil Raju. This is clearly a change of trend in Kollywood where Tamil stars are teaming up with Telugu directors.

The latest we hear is that director Gopichand Malineni, who is fresh from the success of Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy, has scored a jackpot. Apparently, Gopichand narrated a story to Vijay Thalapathy who is very impressed and readily given his nod to director to proceed. It is said to be an out-and-out mass commercial entertainer considering Vijay’s super stardom. At the same time, this genre also falls into Gopichand’s forte. More details are awaited. An official announcement would be made soon.
