Body art has become increasingly popular in recent years, both among celebrities and everyday people. From actors and actresses like Samantha Akkineni and Shruti Hassan to the latest trendsetter in the industry, Samyukta Menon, a growing number of stars are choosing to express themselves through tattoos with unique meanings, messages or experiences for each of them. Although it used to be looked down on in certain areas, body art is now commonplace and accepted as an acceptable form of self-expression for many.

Recently, Golden leg girl Samyukta Menon discussed her tattoo, which reads “Sanchari” and was inked two years ago. This word in Malayalam translates to “traveller”. As a solo traveller, Samyukta often takes trips alone when she’s feeling discontented. Reflecting this, when searching for her breakthrough in the Malayalam film industry, she took an 8-day solo excursion. After the spiritual journey, she received several offers from the Tollywood film industry: a potent reminder that Sanchari truly means traveller and inspired her to get it permanently inked.

At the recent event, she spoke about auditioning for Powerstar Powan Kalyan’s movie “Bheemla Nayak,” which was dialogue and screenplay written by Trivikram Srinivas. She was asked to demonstrate ‘Navarasaalu’ a range of emotions–happiness, surprise, contempt, sadness, fear, disgust and anger–solely through her eyes. This unique audition ultimately led to her being cast in the film. Her ensuing performances reveal that she has an innate knack for expressing many emotions just through eye acting. Her latest project “Virupaksha” further demonstrates this remarkable talent.
