Versatile actor Prakash Raj has been actively campaigning against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on social media in the lead-up to the Karnataka Assembly elections. He has been sharing his opinions and memes critical of the BJP and its leaders on Twitter.
Recently, when Prime Minister Modi visited Karnataka for campaigning, he was greeted by school children who were kept behind fencing for security reasons. A meme was created that depicted an old picture of German dictator Adolf Hitler with children, superimposed with a picture of Modi with the school children. Sharing this meme, Prakash Raj wrote, “History repeats… Future is behind the barbed wire… BEWARE…”
While some netizens backed Prakash Raj and justified his comparison of Modi with Hitler, others were unimpressed and criticized him for making such a derogatory comparison.
The Karnataka election has become a fiercely contested affair, with the BJP trying to hold on to power while the Congress party is making a strong bid to dethrone the current government led by Chief Minister Bommai.
