Kriti Shetty’s Sharp Comments On ‘Oo Antava’

Although Kriti Shetty’s latest movie Custody received negative reactions, she is trending for a different reason – her comments on the popular song ‘Oo Antava Mawa Oo Antara’ by Samantha Akkineni have reached 1 billion views on YouTube in total.

When Kriti Shetty was asked during a promotional interview for ‘Custody’ if she would accept a dance in the “oo antava mawa oo antava” song, she immediately responded that she is not looking to accept such roles at this time. She stated that, according to her experience, it is difficult for her to be comfortable in roles which make her feel uneasy. However, she expressed admiration for Samantha’s graceful performance of the song.

Nevertheless, fans of Samantha Ruth claim that ‘It’s not necessary for Kriti Shetty to take up a special song if she doesn’t feel it necessary; however, they suggest that politely declining by noting that she will consider it shows more respect than saying she won’t do it.

But why it is sometimes necessary for actresses to do special songs in order to gain an audience or get back on track with their movie career? Only certain actresses, such as Tamanna, Pooja Hegde, Priyamani and Samantha, possess the charisma required to make a successful appearance in a special song. On the other hand, Kajal, Hansika, Shriya and Taapsee haven’t had great success when performing in special songs.

It’s often suggested that heroines have to appear in special songs in a movie for it to be successful, from the late actress 1990s Sowdarya to Samantha. The argument is the same for big-budget epics like Baahubali, as well as directors like Sukumar who are known for their special song sequences.
