2018 Floods Enter The 100 Cr Club

The latest successful Malayalam film, “2018,” directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, has achieved a remarkable feat by crossing the milestone of Rs 100 crores at the worldwide box office within just 11 days. The film’s exceptional performance continued even on its second Monday, almost matching the numbers of its first Sunday.

Contrary to the expected normal trend following the second Sunday, the film continues to generate numbers that surpass the usual expectations. With daily worldwide collections of around 7 crores, which surpass its opening day figures, it is difficult to predict the final outcome of the film’s box office run.

In terms of regional collections, “2018” has grossed Rs 44 crores in its home market of Kerala, Rs 7 crores from the rest of India, and approximately Rs 50 crores internationally. The majority of the international collections have come from the UAE and Gulf regions.

“2018” marks the third film in Mollywood (Malayalam film industry) to surpass the 100 crore mark. Notably, it is the first non-Mohanlal film to achieve this milestone. Previously, Mollywood had two films, “Pulimurugan” and “Lucifer,” in the prestigious 100 crore club, and now “2018” joins this elite list.
