Nayanthara Enters Into New Business!

Nayanthara continues to make waves not just in the film industry but also in the business world. Known for her stellar performances in movies, Nayanthara has now ventured into the film theatre business by purchasing an old property in Chennai, India.

Together with her husband, Vignesh Shivan, Nayanthara acquired the old building of Agasthiya Theatres in northern Chennai under their production company, Rowdy Pictures. The Agastya Theatre, previously owned by the Devi Theatre Group, had been operating since 1967 and had showcased films of legendary Tamil actors such as MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajith Kumar, and Thalapathy Vijay. Unfortunately, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the theatre had to shut down in 2020 after serving the community for an impressive 53 years.

Reports suggest that Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan plan to renovate the theatre and convert it into a two-screen facility, with a total seating capacity of over 1,000 people. This move aims to revive the glory of the cinema and provide an enhanced viewing experience for the audience.

Beyond her foray into the theatre business, Nayanthara has also made a mark in the skincare industry. In 2021, she launched a skincare company in collaboration with a business partner and friend. Their lip balm company prides itself on offering nearly 100 variants of lip balm, making it the first of its kind in India. Additionally, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan operate a successful production house, which has produced notable films like Koozhangal, Netrikann, and Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal. Established in 2021, their production company reportedly boasts a net worth exceeding Rs 50 crore.

In personal news, Nayanthara tied the knot with Vignesh Shivan in June 2022 in Mahabalipuram. A few months later, the couple joyfully announced the birth of their twins through surrogacy, further adding to their happiness.

As for Nayanthara’s upcoming projects, she recently appeared in the Tamil film Connect. Audiences can look forward to seeing her alongside Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in Atlee’s upcoming Hindi film Jawaan, scheduled for release on September 7th. Moreover, she is set to star in Lady Superstar 75 and The Test, marking her first collaboration with actor R. Madhavan.
