There are certain things we don’t expect to see, but sometimes, creative folks often re-invent themselves and showcase their other side. India’s legendary music composer AR Rahman is one of his kind, and he never likes publicity and show-off videos, while his work speaks volumes for himself. And here is what he has done now when the likes of Anirudh and Thaman make producers spend huge on promotional videos.
Though Rahman is never expected to dance, this time, the 56-year-old composer has outdone himself by adding choreography to a lyrical video song. He could be seen performing small dance moves for the promotion song ‘Jigu Jigu Rail’, for the film Maamannan that features Udayanidhi Stalin in a powerful role as the film is said to be a political thriller. Surely the talented composer’s dance mode is the first eye-catchy thing from the song, while his music is as usual brilliant.
Coming to the video, the black and white look of it, the well-balanced visuals with Rahman and kids, the legendary composer’s voice as well as his daughter Khatija’s voice have all got blended nicely that we witness a superior treat. But then the melancholy in the song hits so hard that it suits the political flavour of the film quite well. More than anything, Rahman sir’s dance mode is terrific. Watch it now folks!
