One of the recent disasters that have shaken Tollywood big time is none other than Akhil’s “Agent” which was carved by Surender Reddy. Many movie lovers and even critics felt that the project will end up as a medium-range success at the least, but it turned out to be a dud. And it looks like issues are still plaguing the movie now.
According to the grapevine, the OTT channel that bought the rights of Agent for a whopping price has asked the director Surender Reddy to do a slick cut version of the movie such that it will work in the Hindi dubbed version at the least.
Though the director has made a couple of cuts, the OTT folks are said to be unhappy with the way things are shaping up. However, the director is said to have clarified that he can’t make any more cuts to the original version, and whatever he has envisioned is better and more appealing.
On the other hand, the OTT folks are said to have roped in a couple of editors to do the recut job such that the film’s digital version will work out well. The platform is said to have shelled out a fortune to grab the rights such that its subscription base will grow enormously. But that’s not going to work with this film anymore unless a re-cut version begets a blockbuster talk. Is that possible? Let’s see!
