Satyabhama: A Ruthless Police In Saree

On the eve of Kajal Aggarwal’s birthday on June 19th, the makers of her next film revealed a special glimpse from her upcoming film, which is a sort of surprise for sure. As the star heroine refused to star in heroine-centric films from a long time ago, it is now a wonder that she has even shot for one.

“Satyabhama” is a film featuring Kajal Aggarwal as an assistant police commissioner, and the glimpse released has showcased Kajal Aggarwal as a tough cop whose punches on goons will make them spill the truth. Though it’s not convincing to see Kajal as ACP as she never has that fit physique a cop role usually requires, the terrific visuals and background score have worked out big time. And that also brings us to the discussion of senior heroines picking up action-centric roles when their career reached a fag end, that is in their almost second-innings.

When Tamanna did a similar action role in Rajamouli’s Baahubali, it worked out, but for the likes of Trisha and Samantha, those action roles in films like Cheekati Rajyam and Yashoda respectively haven’t fared well. Now that Kajal Aggarwal also took the same route, one wonders what sort of luck will shine upon her.

Other than this female-centric movie, Kajal has the likes of Indian 2, Balayya’s Bhagavanth Kesari and a couple of other movies in the pipeline.
