Adipurush Failed To Revive That Trend In Indian Cinema

When Adipurush was announced, everyone thought it would revive the glory of devotional and mythological films in Indian cinema. Though the first teaser got a negative response for its mediocre VFX, the makers salvaged the content with the recent trailers.

Overall, Adipurush managed to generate a good buzz ahead of its release. Amidst heavy expectations, it hit the screens on Friday. However, the film generated negative talk from the audience. Viewers couldn’t digest the modern re-telling of the mythological epic.

The characters seemed off track, the VFX was subpar, the story had been changed, and too many unnecessary elements were added. Overall, people wouldn’t feel that they have watched Ramayana after leaving the theatres.

While the first half was decent, the second half tests the viewers’ patience with prolonged war sequences.

People thought that Adipurush would revive the trend of mythological films, but the plan backfired. Let’s see which film will boost this genre in the future.
