Trailer Talk: Karan Johar’s Rich Bommarillu

Into his 25th year of filmmaking, finally, ace producer-director Karan Johar has decided to wield the megaphone again, and this time he has picked up his favourite muses Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt to come up with “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani”. Here’s what the trailer is promising about this film.

A rich brat with no knowledge of any general things, Rocky (Ranveer) meets a educated and progressive Bengali girl Rani (Alia) and they fall in love. As their thought processes and societal statuses are different, she comes up with a plan that they will switch their families for 3 months. One will be living in the other person’s house for three months to impress each other. Yes, the idea is something that Tollywood made back in 2006, which is Siddharth and Genelia’s Bommarillu. For Telugu folks, this trailer looks like a Bommarillu made with costly setups, rich colours, and top-notch casting.

On the other hand, the comedy sequences in the film are pretty interesting as per the trailer, and the screen presence of Ranveer and Alia is pretty magical. As the music and songs also sound interesting, the film might hit the bull’s eye if the whole packaging sounds right. “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” is hitting cinemas on July 28th, 2023.
