Hero Nikhil has written an open letter regarding “SPY” and apologised to the audience, though he hasn’t called the film a disaster. However, as he stated that he will be never compromising on quality no matter what the pressures are. And that led everyone to discuss, what is the pressure Nikhil faced for this film.
Prima facie, the problem with Spy is that the story is cliched, routine and lacks nothing afresh in terms of screenplay. One wonders why Nikhil picked it, but then, the real point is, it is the producer Rajasekhar Reddy who has written the story, and he believed more in it than the hero or the narrative.
At the same time, director Garry BH is the editor behind superhit films like HIT, Evaru, The Ghazi Attack and many more. What surprised anyone is how come an editor with a good sense of shot selection and techniques that could narrate stuff emotionally, has failed to create at least one good moment in Spy.
Now that Nikhil gave an open statement about quality, this producer and director are under immense pressure as they have to prove their next movie. As Nikhil’s statement pushed the total blame on them, it will be definitely an uphill task for this producer and director to prove their abilities with their subsequent projects.
