While ‘class’ centres are complaining about the cringe content of the movie, ‘mass’ centres have unfurled a red carpet for Sai Rajesh’s “Baby” which features Anand Devarakonda, Vaishnavi Chaitanya and Viraj Ashwin as the leads.
Though the initial talk is ‘mixed’, it looks like a part of the film’s content, which is pure cringe, is actually exerting a big influence on a section of youths.
“Baby” posted a big total in its first weekend as per trade circles, and especially in areas like Ceded, where the film got sold for 90 lakhs, has made ₹1.2+ crores share in the 3 days run, pushing the distributors into profit-mode already.
Even in Nizam, where the film got released on ₹2 crores advance basis, made nearly ₹4 crores ‘share’ in the first weekend. While the producers made table profits a week before the release, now the distributors are also milking huge money.
A big weekend for a small film indeed with the kind of numbers that are posted right now and with Monday being post-Bonalu holiday in Telangana, surely the collections will see a huge spike for sure.
In the Andhra region, A-centres are not witnessing mammoth crowds, but B&C centres are registering good numbers. We have to see where will ‘Baby’ stand in the long run.
