One of the best things to do in this age of filmmaking is not to imitate western ideals blindly, but blending our very own Hindu culture with some updated ideas. While many filmmakers are struggling to meet that part, it looks like director Nag Ashwin has terrifically mixed Hindu epics into this latest sci-fi film “Kalki 2898 AD” which features Superstar Prabhas in the lead.
Throughout the first glimpse of “Project K” which was released other day, Nag Ashwin made sure to give various references to a lot of weapons that were mentioned in Hindu epics. He made use of Lord Vishnu’s weapons like Padmastram, Parasuram’s axe, Sudharshana Chakra (Prabhas activates it), and much more. The linkage of rooted Hindu mythology to a sci-fi film is something commendable. That truly showcases the power of Hindu mythology to the world when this film hits cinemas.
On the other hand, the quality of the visual effects as well as the creative part of “Project K” is raising expectations beyond imagination and the first teaser as well as the trailer of the film should be a couple of bars above that. In case Nag Ashwin achieves that as well, then this project will be unstoppable.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD features Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and others in the lead.
