“I Asked Long Back To Remove Superstar Tag”, Shares Rajinikanth

The much-awaited audio launch event of Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie, “Jailer,” was held at the Nehru indoor stadium in Chennai last night. Superstar Rajinikanth graced his presence and addressed the fans almost after a long time.

Rajinikanth began his speech by recounting his first meeting with the film’s director, Nelson Dilipkumar. Amusingly, Rajini had initially planned to meet Nelson at 10:00 AM, but knowing about Nelson’s habit of waking up late, he rescheduled the meeting to 11:30 AM. However, Nelson still managed to arrive only around noon. Despite this, he humorously asked for a cup of good coffee without any hesitation.

Addressing the concerns about sticking with Nelson as the director, Rajinikanth openly acknowledged the negative responses received for “Beast” (a film starring Vijay). Despite suggestions to change the director, Rajini shared that the Sun Pictures/TV team assured him there was no loss for distributors, despite the film’s unfavorable reviews.

Rajinikanth revealed that after “Annaatthe,” he grew tired of listening to scripts that resembled his past hits like “Annamalai” or “Baasha” or were either high-budget productions or completely different genres from what he wanted.

During the event, Rajini also requested the removal of the word ‘Superstar’ from the lyrics of a song. He expressed that the ‘Superstar’ title has been an ongoing issue for him and clarified that he had requested its removal long ago. Furthermore, he playfully added that he is only afraid of God and good human beings.

The audio launch event was undoubtedly filled with candid moments and valuable insights, leaving fans eager to witness the magic Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilipkumar have in store with “Jailer.”
